衛福部昨召開「登革熱防治專家諮詢會議」，部長蔣丙煌表示，將指定台南市部立台南醫院等4家非醫學中心為登革熱應變醫院，名單今在召開會議後即公布，而每個應變醫院有配合支援的醫學中心，醫學中心不限台南，鄰近且經驗豐富的高醫附醫、高雄榮總、高雄長庚也可能投入支援，但患者轉送仍以在地為主。

此外，鑑於目前17死皆為年長者，台南市衛生局昨要求各醫院遇長者合併慢性病史出現疑似症狀時需「從嚴看待」，盡量留院觀察。

蔣丙煌說，當民眾經快篩確診登革熱，會優先進應變醫院，若嚴重病例需支援才會轉診到支援的醫學中心。許多輕症病患不須到醫學中心人擠人，就可得到非常好的照顧，這項措施重點是讓病患得到最好照顧。

衛福部次長林奏延表示，台南醫學中心等級的成大、奇美醫院負荷量已極限，嚴重影響醫院本身運作功能，登革熱病患嚴重排擠心肌梗塞、癌症患者；今早將在疾病管制署南區管理中心討論應變醫院詳細執行方式，將會有具體結果。
